The cinema in Wengen was built by the architect Fritz Graf from Wengen in 1962/1963.
The grand opening of the cinema took place on March 10, 1963, with the film "Die Nacht vor der Premiere".
The business was run by the Graf family for almost five decades under the direction of Ms. Didy Graf.
In the year 2006, the Association Freunde Kino Wengen was founded to ensure the continuation of the cinema.
In Autumn 2012 cinema technology was renewed by the Friends of Kino Wengen Association. In particular, a digital
Projection and digital sound system was installed. On December 22, 2012, the new facilities were able to show the film "The Downhill Racer".

The owner of the cinema in Wengen is Mr. Vogt from Meisterschwanden.
The tenant and operator of the cinema is the Association Freunde Kino Wengen.
In the technical cabin, there is a new Christies CP2415-Xe digital projector, a 35mm BAUER B14 and a 16mm BAUER projector ready for the showings.
The cinema can also be rented for events. Various kinds of presentations, concerts and theatre performances take place regulary in the cinema.
